for over 40 years my aim has always beento restore clocks in a sensitive manner.

The English dial clock remains a firm favourite amongst the general public and the Antique trade alike. Their popularity means that they are continually sought after and finding one that is as true as the day it was first wound and started has become increasingly difficult. Of course there are unscrupulous types that cobble together bits and pieces and pass them off as the genuine article, and these people are to be guarded against . I pride myself on being absolutely honest about the clocks I restore and sell . If believe a clock to be a marriage, then that's the information I will give to the buyer. If the hands are wrong or the dial has been doctored , the buyer shall know.

I don't farm out any of my work. I restore dials and cases . I also repair movements . With all due modesty I can say that , when it comes to clocks, there is very little that escapes my skill set.

Whilst I do sell clocks making money is not my motivation. The pleasure I get from successfully completing a restoration far outweighs any profit I seek to make.

    Jerome wall clock . American , pre 1860 as the wording on the label was changed after that date . Rosewood veneer in acceptable condition and original paintwork on the dial.

    A lovely , warm Mahogany cased , 10 inch , chain fusee wall clock . Both dial and case have been fully restored and the movement stripped , cleaned and oiled , and is running perfectly A very attractive and unobtrusive wall clock that would suit various locations.

    A Winterhalder & hofmeier ( W&H Sch) striking , drop dial wall clock . The completely original dial is housed in a dark Mahogany case . The spring driven movement has been cleaned and oiled and keeps excellent time . Countwheel striking on a gong.

    Mahogany cased, 12 inch dial , chain fusee wall clock . The movement has been stripped , cleaned , oiled and runs perfectly . The dial has been fully restored by hand . The case is in very good condition and has keys for both the bottom door and the bezel.

    A Mahogany cased 12 inch fusee dial clock with a gut line . Dial fully restored by hand and movement stripped , cleaned and oiled. Keeping excellent time and will only increase in value .

  • CLOCK E. £275. SOLD

    an excellent quality Mahogany cased , drop dial , fusee wall clock . Convex dial and glass with cast bezel. The case has attractive brass inlay and hand carved ears . The dial has been restored by hand and replicates exactly the original paintwork . The fusee movement has a steel cable line and has been stripped cleaned and oiled , and also benefits from a new internal click in the fusee.

    A Winterhalder & Hofmeier chain fusee . Hand restored dial which isn't perfect , with the odd blemish where the dial feet are fixed but apart from that , acceptable . The movement has been stripped cleaned , oiled and runs perfectly. Dial and movement are housed in an Oak case that has a slight flat on the outer edge of the wooden dial surround , between numerals 10 and 11.

    A 12 inch dial clock by William Lee of Bolton . A good quality spring movement which has been stripped , cleaned and oiled . It keeps excellent time and is housed in an Oak case which is in very good order . The dial is completely original and the clock would be an attractive feature in any home.

    Lovely uncomplicated 12" dial Oak cased wall clock . A very simple and unfussy wall clock . The 8 day movement has been stripped , cleaned and oiled . The dial is a replacement as is the bezel hinge, otherwise it's in its original state . Properly cared for it will give many years of service and be a pleasure to own. Compared with its much more expensive cousin , the fusee dial clock , this represents excellent value at £95.
